Fatal Collision Update – Driver Charged With Methamphetamine & Dangerous Driving

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On October 3, 2017 at 7:55 p.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision between a motorcycle and a Pontiac G6 on Highway 6 between Barrow Bay Road and Cemetery Road in Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The motorcycle rider, 38-year-old Edward (Chad) HONNEYMAN of Wiarton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On December 5, 2017 Bruce Peninsula OPP arrested and charged the driver of the Pontiac, 30-year-old male, Justin LOZON of Northern Bruce Peninsula. He has been charged with the following:

Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Death, Criminal Code of Canada (CC) 249(4)

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) 4(1)

On December 6, 2017 the accused attended Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound for a bail hearing.
