Fatal Collision Update – Deceased And Injured Identified – London Road Open

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and members from the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are now clear of the scene of an early morning deadly car crash.

Just after 3:30 a.m. officers from the Huron County OPP Detachment along with personnel from Central Huron Fire Department and Huron County EMS responded to the crash scene located south of Londesborough on London Road (Huron County Road # 4).

The preliminary investigation has determined the driver of a Nissan Quest minivan was travelling southbound on London Road when his vehicle collided with a deer that had entered onto the roadway. The driver lost control of his vehicle as it veered across the northbound lane and off the roadway. The vehicle continued down a steep embankment and across a muddy field before it ultimately came to rest on its wheels in a shallow creek bed.

Five adult male occupants were in the vehicle.

Errol BROWN, 39 years of age, from London was transported from the scene by ambulance. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. He was a passenger in the third row of the van.

The driver, Mark HYLTON, 40 years of age from London was airlifted to hospital in London. He remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Lyle RIDDELL, 40 years of age, also from London was airlifted to hospital in London. He remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Eloid DRUMMOND, 42 years of age, also from London was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries

Llyod COHEN, 27 years of age, was transported to hospital with minor injuries. He has since been discharged.

London Road (Huron County Road # 4) between Winthrop Road and Summerhill Road is now open.
