On Monday June 27, 2016 at approximately 10:59 am there was fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 85 near Sawmill Rd, in the township of Woolwich. A Southbound SUV, being driven by a woman from Conestogo, drove into the side of a Northbound Truck, being driven by a man from Waterloo. The driver of the SUV was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Truck was not injured. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Hwy 85 was closed between Sawmill Rd and King St. Weather and alcohol are not factors in this collision.
