(Quinte West, ON) – On June 24th, 2016 at approximately 9:00pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to Hamilton Road for the report of a two vehicle collision.
When officers arrived on scene information was received that there were three occupants involved in the collision and fire department was required for extrication. Hastings-Prince Edward EMS also attended the scene.
All of the occupants were transported to hospital, one person critically injured, a second was transported with serious injuries and the third was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The 51 year old male party that was transported to hospital in critical condition later succumbed to his injuries.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended to Hamilton Road and assisted with the investigation.
Hamilton Road remained closed for several hours until OPP TTCI completed their investigation.
Shawn Stewart Fisher, 51, of Belleville died in the collision and no charges are expected.
