Fatal Collision On County Road 109

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On Thursday July 4, 2013 at approximately 4:15pm Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a 1985 Yamaha motor cycle and a 2004 Ford Freestar minivan on County Road 109 near 5th Line in the Town of Minto.

The motorcycle was travelling southbound and the minivan was travelling northbound.

The drivers of the vehicles were transported to the Palmerston Hospital. The driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The deceased male has been identified as Thomas Black aged 48 of Harriston. The 60 year old female driver of the minivan is from Kincardine and she suffered minor injuries.

West Region OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) is assisting with the investigation. The Minto Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene. Wellington Victim Services provided support to the families.
