(ARTEMESIA TWP, ON) – On December 23, 2014 at 6:20 p.m., the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 10, south of Markdale, in Artemesia Township. Officers arrived to find a White Pontiac Montana and a Blue Volvo wagon had hit head on.
There was 1 occupant in each vehicle. One driver has been pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The other driver has been taken to hospital for assessment of non-life threatening injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is attending to assist the Grey County OPP with this incident.
Highway 10 has been closed between side road 110 and side road 120 for the protection of emergency responders. The cooperation of motorists in avoiding the incident area is appreciated.
The investigation is in its early stages.
