(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Line 67 east of Perth Road 136 in the Township of Perth East.
On Sunday January 15, 2017, at approximately 8:18 a.m. Perth County OPP, Perth East Fire Department and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving a horse drawn buggy and a car.
The four occupants from the horse drawn buggy were all injured. Two of the occupants were taken to an area hospital in stable condition. One has since been treated and released.
A third occupant was taken to an area hospital for treatment of critical injuries and was later pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
The deceased has been identified as 74-year-old David KUEPFER from Perth East, Ontario.
A fourth occupant was airlifted from the scene and taken to a London area hospital and remains in stable condition.
The 18 year-old driver of the car did not receive any injuries.
Members from the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team are currently on scene and assisting with the collision investigation. Line 67 is currently closed between Perth Road 131 and Perth Road 136 while the initial investigation is taking place.

The investigation is continuing and information will be provided when it becomes available.
