On June 16th 2016, at approximately 4:46pm, a fatal motor vehicle collision took place along Northfield Drive East near Line 86 in the Township of Woolwich. The collision occurred after a motor vehicle crossed into the opposing lane of traffic and was struck by a dump truck.
A 23 year old Elora male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital and released with minor injuries. Speed of the deceased males motor vehicle is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision. Drug and alcohol use are not considered to be a factor at this point in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
