(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) -Today at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Wellington Road 8, near Drayton. Initial reports indicated that a single vehicle had entered a ditch and a female suffered serious injuries.
OPP as well as Mapleton Fire/Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service attended the scene. The female driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.
County 8 is currently closed between Sideroad 12 and Sideroad 15 and is expected to remain closed for several hours while the investigation takes place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
