(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Thursday April 18, 2013 shortly before 3 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were called to a crash in the intersection of Hwy 7 at Perth Road 118 east of St.Marys.
Investigation into the collision revealed that a car was travelling north bound across Hwy 7 from Oxford Road 119 onto Perth Road 118 when it was struck by a truck that was travelling west bound on Hwy. 7.
The two occupants of the car were pronounced deceased at the scene while the male driver of the truck did not sustain injuries.
Traffic is being re-routed around the intersection east of the crash location, at Line 15 and Hwy 7, and west of the crash at line 9 and Hwy 7, and at Uniondale on Oxford Road 119 south of the crash scene.
Traffic is expected to be re-routed until approximately 9 p.m. to allow for the removal of the vehicles and the safe investigation of the crash by the O.P.P. West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators.
Roads were dry and it was sunny at the time of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
