(PERTH EAST, ON) – A motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East shortly before 8:30 p.m. on April 6, 2018 has resulted in a fatality and criminal charges.
Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, and Perth East Fire Department responded to the single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 131 last evening. The driver was assessed at the scene; the passenger was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as twenty-four-year old Gary KUEPFER of Minto Township.
The driver, twenty-year-old Carl KUEPFER of Wellington North Township was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, cause death; and
Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood-cause death.
The Accused was held for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.
Perth Road 131 between Perth Line 80 and Perth Line 83 has since re-opened.
