(WEST PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers continue to investigate a fatal All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash that took place over the weekend southwest of Mitchell.
On Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 6:14 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department responded to a crash scene located at a farm property on Perth Line 19 in West Perth.
The investigation has determined a group of adults had been on the property riding their ATV’s throughout the bush and field trails throughout the afternoon. It was toward the end of their day of riding when one of the group members located his friend’s 4-wheel ATV lying on its’ side and the lone rider lying unconscious beside the ATV.
The male driver was immediately transferred from the scene by land ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Robert MCDOUGALL, 51 years of age from Perth East.
Members from the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.
