(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On July 26, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a farm accident on Sideroad 15, near Conestoga Lake.
OPP, Mapleton Fire/Rescue and Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended and found a male unresponsive in an underground holding tank. The 24-year-old farmhand from Holland was pronounced dead at scene.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation and the Ministry of Labour (M.O.L) has been called in. The identity of the deceased will not released until the next of kin have been notified.
