Family Dispute

Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2014 – 9:00pm
On the 7th of October 2014, at approximately 9pm, Barrie Police attended a south end residence in regards to a family dispute. Upon Police arrival officers obtained the following information:

The male and female involved are common-law, however the male is currently on conditions not to communicate with the female as a result of a domestic related charge. The two parties became involved in a verbal argument. In the residence at the time of the incident was the males parents. As they continued to argue the males farther came over to intervene and break up the argument. It was at this time it is alleged both parties turned on the father and threw him to the ground causing minor injury to his forehead.

The males mother than contacted police to attend and assist with the situation. The female remained within the residence and awaited police arrival. The male knowing he was in violation of his conditions, fled the residence prior to police arrival.

Police attended and subsequently arrested the 30 year old female for assault. She was transported to the station and later released with a court date of early November. Police have obtained a warrant for the 33 year old male for the charges of Assault, Breaching his recognizance and breaching his probation. Once arrested he will be held pending a bail hearing.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack.
