(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Saturday May 18, 2013, at approximately 8:30pm County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the Elora Gorge Conservation Area in Centre Wellington Township to assist the Elora Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS). A A group of friends were camping and decided to go under the guard rail and proceed down to the river edge. On the climb back up, a male age 26, from Oakville lost his footing and fell approximately 15 metres. The Elora Fire Department completed a rope rescue and he was airlifted by ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital. The injuries were non-life threatening and he was in stable condition.
