On Tuesday, September 1, 2015, just after 10:00 p.m., Police observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and failing to stop for several red lights on Essa Road, City of Barrie. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and upon hitting the curb the vehicle began to billow with smoke as a result of tire damage.
Police arrested the 22-year-old, Barrie male for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. The male was later released on a promise to appear with a September court date.
The male not only faces criminal charges, his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.
