Exeter Rodeo Is Back

Follow the road to South Huron for a weekend of adventure that you won’t want to miss. The Ram Rodeo thunders back into Exeter August 7, 8 and 9, 2015. Cowboy up and join the fun and tradition!

Annually, on the weekend directly following the Civic Holiday, watch the South Huron Recreation Centre grounds transform into a unique western playground. Bring the entire family out to witness the thrills and

spills of this exciting event. The grounds are open the entire weekend so that families can drop by, chat with the cowboys/girls, witness what goes on behind the scenes and grab an autograph. The RMG team will be on site to answer any questions you may have regarding this exciting summer tour.

After 18 consecutive years, the Exeter Rodeo continues to attract thousands of enthusiastic fans, eager to capture the challenges, dangers and thrills experienced by the competitors as they compete against the clock in this rough-tough sport. Plan for an action packed weekend in Exeter as the Ram Rodeo tour winds its way

through Central and Southern Ontario communities throughout the summer.

For youngsters to show off their creative abilities there will be a colouring contest sponsored by Dairy Queen.

Drop your completed sheet off at DQ and receive a free mini blizzard. These will be displayed in store front windows a few weeks prior to the rodeo.

Kick off to Rodeo weekend will begin on Friday night when access to the grounds is free for all ages sponsored by the South Huron Optimist Club. The western-themed event through Party Perfect will feature a

moon bounce, games and a RAM Rodeo Olympics for the kids. As this is an event for the youngsters, there will be no alcohol being served.

For the adults, the annual BX 93 video dance hosted by the Exeter Saddle Club will be held on Friday evening at the South Huron Recreation Centre arena floor. This is an age of majority event. Tickets can be purchased from the South Huron Recreation Centre in advance for $12.00 and $15.00 at the door. Arrive and be in attendance at 10:30 pm and you will have an opportunity to win a $500.00 gift certificate donated by Miller’s Country Store. Doors will open at 8 pm. Enjoy the video dance from 9 pm—1 am.

The Saturday twilight show will begin at 4 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The show goes on rain or shine, so pack an umbrella just in case.

The admission, vendor and refreshment area will open at 2 pm on Saturday and 12:00 noon on Sunday, allowing everyone leisure time to enjoy food, beverage and an opportunity to check out the merchandise.

For the youngsters, there will be a sheep scramble at intermission, sponsored by the Exeter Lions Club. This is a great opportunity for youngsters to experience the cowboy way of life. Bring your camera to capture the moment and enjoy memories you will treasure forever.

Crabby Joe’s Exeter has generously sponsored a loonie search. This event will directly follow the show on Saturday and Sunday. Youngsters are encouraged to bring Mom and Dad over to the sand pit and cheer them

on as they search through the pile of sand to find endless treasures. Directly following the twilight Rodeo performance on Saturday evening, entertainment, food and beverage will available. There is no admission charge and we encourage you to bring your entire family out to enjoy the entertainment and mingling with the cowboys and cowgirls.

The Legion Ladies Auxiliary are happy to host a country style breakfast at the South Huron Recreation Centre Hall on Sunday from 8 am—1 pm. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to enjoy this yummy breakfast

while socializing with family, friends and neighbours.

Enjoy a spacious vendor area complete with various retailers, concession, refreshment garden and entertainment. If you are interested in participating as a vendor please contact the South Huron Recreation

Don’t forget to purchase your admission tickets to the Exeter Rodeo in advance and save $5.00 per ticket. Family passes are available. Tickets can be purchased locally at the South Huron Recreation Centre, Hensall Co-Op Gas Bar, Exeter Chrysler, Miller’s Country Store and Huron Tractor. Advance ticket sales will end on Friday, August 7 at 4 pm. Ticket sales after 4 pm will be sold at regular admission price.

Admission tickets – Adults – $20.00, Youth 6 – 12 years of age – $15.00 and 5 and under – $5.00. Family Passes are available for $60.00 which will allow access for two adults and three children. Each additional

child is $10.00. Remember to purchase your admission tickets in advance and save $5.00. New this year – Weekend passes are available and can be purchased for half of the regular price for the second show.

All proceeds from this unique event are earmarked to go directly back into Recreation projects in the community. Funds secured from the rodeo have been instrumental in creating new activities, projects and

pursuits in the community. Volunteering is an outstanding achievement and essential service. We appreciate the effort and support received by the many volunteers who so willingly dedicate their time and energy

towards the sport of Rodeo and for the betterment of our community. By joining hands and working together, we become a richer and more vibrant community to live, work, shop and play.
