Follow the road to South Huron for a weekend of adventure that you won’t want to miss. The Ram Rodeo thunders back into Exeter August 9, 10 and 11, 2013. Cowboy up and join the fun and tradition!
Annually, on the weekend directly following the Civic Holiday, watch the South Huron Recreation Centre grounds transform into a unique western playground. Bring the entire family out to witness the thrills and spills of this exciting event. The grounds are open the entire weekend so that families can drop by, chat with the cowboys/girls, witness what goes on behind the scenes and grab an autograph. The RMG team will be on site to answer any questions you may have regarding this exciting summer tour.
After 16 consecutive years, the Exeter Rodeo continues to attract thousands of enthusiastic fans, eager to capture the challenges, dangers and thrills experienced by the competitors as they compete against the clock in this roughâ€tough sport. Plan for an action packed weekend in Exeter as the Ram Rodeo tour winds its way through Central and Southern Ontario communities throughout the summer.
For the youngsters to show off their creative abilities there will be a colouring contest sponsored by Dairy Queen. Drop off your completed sheet at Dairy Queen and receive a free mini blizzard. The artwork will be displayed at the arena prior to and during the rodeo.
Kick off to Rodeo weekend will begin on Friday night when access to the grounds is free for all ages, sponsored by South Huron Optimist Club, Hospital Foundation and SHBBS. The western themed event through party perfect will feature moon bounce, games and a RAM Rodeo Olypics for the kids.
For the adults, the annual BX93 Video Dance has moved to Friday evening on the arena floor. Hosted by the Exeter Saddle Club, this is an age of majority event. Tickets are available at the door only for a cost of $13.00 per person. Bring your cowboy hat and be ready to party!
Saturday and Sunday, the admission, vendor and refreshment area open at 12:00 noon, allowing everyone leisure time to enjoy food, beverage and an opportunity to check out the merchandise. The Ram Rodeo will begin at 2:00 pm each day. The show goes rain or shine, so pack an umbrella just in case.
For the youngsters, there will be a sheep scramble at intermission, sponsored by the Exeter Lions Club. This is a great opportunity for youngsters to experience the cowboy way of life. Bring your camera to capture the moment and enjoy memories you will treasure forever.
Crabby Joe’s Exeter has generously sponsored a loonie search. This event will directly follow the show on Saturday and Sunday. Youngsters are encouraged to bring Mom and Dad over to the sand pit and cheer them on as they search through the pile of sand to find endless treasures.

The Committee is excited to announce that a very rare concert is taking place on Saturday evening. The South Huron Recreation Centre Arena is the venue for a once in a lifetime show! Don’t miss an intimate and exclusive evening on Saturday, August 10th! The Acoustic Concert in the Round – The Song Writing Series – Featuring Canadian Country Artists: Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Patricia Conroy, Michelle Wright and Beverley Mahood will hit the stage at 8 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. This is a licensed event. All ages welcome, wrist band identification will be in effect. Tickets are 85.00 + HST and can only be purchased in person at the South Huron Recreation Centre, 94 Victoria Street East, Exeter during regular business hours, or online at ticketscene.ca. The Stephen Township Firefighters Association are happy to host a country style breakfast at the South Huron Recreation Centre Hall on Sunday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to enjoy this yummy breakfast, listening to country music while socializing with family, friends and neighbours.

All proceeds from this unique event are earmarked to go directly back into Recreation projects in the community.
