(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 3:18 p.m., a member of the Mount Forest Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division stopped a vehicle for speeding on County Rd. 7, Rothsay, in the Township of Mapleton.
The driver of the 2008 GMC Sierra was found to have been drinking alcohol. He was subsequently given a roadside breath test, which he failed. He was transported to the Palmerston OPP Detachment for further breath tests. The test results indicated he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
Evan William MILLER, age 30, of Drayton, Ontario is charged with over 80 milligrams blood alcohol content while operating a motor vehicle and possession of marihuana under 30 grams under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, August 16, 2013.
