(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday July 30, 2013 at approximately 3:18pm, an OPP Highway Safety Division officer conducted a traffic stop on Elora Street West near Catherine Street South, Mapleton Township. Police spoke to the driver of the 2008 GMC Sierra, who showed signs of alcohol consumption. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a Fail being registered. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of Marihuana.
Evan Miller, age 30 of Drayton has been charged with Over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Possession of Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on August 16, 2013 to answer to the charges.
