Elizabeth Leader – Rear Ends Tractor Trailer – Drunk Driving

(HOWICK TWP, ON) – On May 19, 2012 just before 8:00 a.m. a Huron OPP officer attended the scene of a two vehicle collision on Belmore Line. The investigating officer determined the female driver of a southbound Ford Taurus drove into the rear of a tractor trailer that was also southbound on Belmore Line. The Ford Taurus sustained severe front end damage. No injuries were sustained in the collision.

Upon speaking with the driver of the Ford Taurus the officer noted she had been drinking alcohol. A demand was made for the driver to provide a sample of her breath into a roadside screening device. The driver subsequently failed to provide a suitable sample of her breath.

As a result, Elizabeth LEADER, age 53, from Walkerton has been charged with Fail to Provide a Breath Sample and Careless Driving. Her court date is scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on July 12, 2012. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension. LP12133215
