On April 7, 2016 at 4:50 p.m., Emergency responders attended a residence on Country Squire Road for a residential fire reported by a neighbour. The owner of the home, an elderly female, was located inside the residence by Woolwich Fire Fighters. The female was transported to Grand River Hospital for treatment of injuries caused by the fire and later transferred to Hamilton General Hospital. The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office has been contacted. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
