(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, July 28, 2016, around 6:20 p.m., an elderly man answered a knock at his door at his home on a rural part of the 6th Line of Bradford, east of 10 Sideroad. A suspect asked for directions to Highway 27, and then left. Five minutes later, the man returned to ask more directions. As he was speaking to him, the suspect pushed the victim backward, and ripped the gold chain from around his neck. He fled in 4 door grey car.
The suspect is described as white, between 5’10 and 6 feet tall, thin with short brown hair. His was clean shaven with a slight tan, wearing a white t-shirt.
Officers believe the suspect was checking rural properties in order to commit a break and enter. When he found the elderly victim at home he used the opportunity to rob the victim of his necklace.
