(HURON EAST, ON) – On Friday February 25, 2011 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Huron County OPP, West Region ERT and the OPP Canine Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Quebec Street in the Municipality of Huron East.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana bud, cannabis resin, and oxycodone pills. The estimated combined street value of the controlled substances is $11,070.00. Also seized was a prohibited weapon.
Dwain SHANAHAN (40) and Julie SHANAHAN (37) both of Huron East are charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking (cannabis marihuana), possession of a controlled substance (cannabis resin), possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and possession of a prohibited weapon.
