DUNKELD TAVERN DAMAGED BY FIRE
(BRANT TWP, ON) On March 10, 2013 at 1:47 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm at the Dunkeld Tavern on Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township. Officers arrived to find that the building was on fire.
Fire fighters with the Walkerton Fire Department, Hanover Fire Department and Paisley Fire Department responded to battle the blaze. The fire caused considerable damage to the building. An estimate of the damages is not available at this time.
Bruce County Road 3 was closed between Concession 2 and Concession 6 for the safety of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.
An investigator with the Office of the Fire Marshall will be assisting the South Bruce OPP with this case.
The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
