Drunk Soldiers From Base Borden Berate Police

On Saturday the 14th of September 2013 at approximately 2:40AM Barrie officers were on Dunlop Street monitoring the crowds during the bar closings. As one officer was speaking to a citizen, an intoxicated male approached him and pushed the citizen out of the way. The male then began to berate the officer.

The male was advised to leave as his companion who was also intoxicated, approached and also began to berate the officer. The first male started to be aggressive and was arrested for public intoxication. As he was being arrested, his companion attempted to interfere. He was also arrested for public intoxication. They were placed in the rear of the police cruiser and the companion started to spit in the car trying to get it on the officers.

Investigation revealed that the two males were soldiers from out of province attending courses on Base Borden.
A 26 year old male was held in custody until sober and then released with a fine. The companion, a 23 year old male was charged with Mischief under $5000.00. He was held until sober and then released with a future court date.
