On June 13, 2016 at 6:13 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver with two small children on board in the area of Costco. Police located the vehicle on Speedvale Avenue at 6:25 p.m. and a traffic stop was conducted. Police spoke with the female driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. She failed this test and was arrested. The children’s father attended to pick them up.
Amaya Garcia, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. She will appear in court on June 28, 2016.
