(BLUEWATER, ON) – On August 16, 2015 just before 5:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a Hensall residence in relation to a complaint of a possible domestic dispute. Witnesses reported a male driver appeared intoxicated and was now ramming his minivan into a camper trailer parked on a residential property. Inside the camper trailer was the male’s wife. She was not injured.
Within a few minutes officers arrived on scene and located the intoxicated male seated in the driver’s seat of the mini-van. Police arrested the male for Dangerous Driving and Impaired Care & Control. The driver was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples registered above the legal limit.
As a result, police have charged a 28-year-old male from Bluewater with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on October 15, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
