Drunk Driver Located At Side Of Road – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On November 25, 2017 approximately 9:40 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrol on Lake Road, Township of Puslinch. Officer stopped to speak with a driver of a 1999 GMC Jimmy who was parked at the side of the road near County 32.

While speaking with the driver officers believed him to be under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for further testing.

60-year-old Daniel OAKES of Copetown, has been charged with Care or Control over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He was also charged with Possession of Schedule 1 Drugs and having open alcohol. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 22, 2017.
