Drunk Driver Hits Parked Pickup Truck In West Perth – Name Released

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On Saturday April 1, 2017 shortly after 7:00 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth Fire Department and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Napier Street in the Municipality of West Perth.

Investigation revealed that a grey Chevrolet car had struck a parked pick-up truck. Upon dealing with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and saw signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for operating motor vehicle while impaired and transported to a local area hospital for treatment. He later provided samples of his breath into an Intoxilyzer and registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 37-year-old Kyle FENWICK from West Perth has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 18, 2017. He also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
