(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Early this morning around 3:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a restaurant located on Ontario Street in Clinton to investigate a motor vehicle collision. Police arrived on scene to find damage to some bricks on the west wall of the building from an apparent collision. Through investigation officers were able to locate the driver of the Kia inside the restaurant. Upon speaking with the driver officers noted she had been drinking alcohol. A demand for a roadside screening test was made. The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of her breath which resulted in a fail.
She was placed under arrest and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where she provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 40-year-old Beth Ann CLARKE from Central Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Drive While Disqualified.
