(GODERICH, ON) – A 62-year-old from Central Huron has been charged with Over 80 following a traffic stop that took place in Goderich yesterday (27Feb) afternoon.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on February 27, 2017 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a suspected impaired driver that had just left a business located on North Street in Goderich. Officers immediately began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and moments later a Huron OPP officer spotted the suspect vehicle, a Ford Explorer, travelling eastbound on Huron Road.
A traffic stop was initiated and the investigating officer spoke with the male driver. While speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming some alcohol. As a result a roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and was promptly transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.

He was later released from custody with an upcoming court appearance scheduled for March 20, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
