Drunk Driver From ACW Arrested On Zion Road Near St. Helen’s Line – Name Released

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A traffic stop yesterday afternoon has led to an Over 80 charge against a male driver from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

At approximately 2:21 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Ford Ranger that was travelling eastbound on Zion Road near St. Helen’s Line. Upon stopping the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest for Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both of his samples registered over the legal limit.

Robert COLLINS, 33 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 5, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He also received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
