(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – A 49 year old female from Waterloo, Ontario was arrested last night for impaired driving and assaulting police after an incident outside the Chatsworth OPP Detachment.
On Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at approximately 9:23 p.m., the accused was operating a 2015 Chrysler minivan when she followed two OPP cruisers into the rear parking lot of the Chatsworth OPP Detachment. She proceeded to tell the officers that she was investigating police. The driver, who was behaving erratically and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, was arrested for impaired driving. She resisted arrest and was combative. Despite several warnings to stop resisting, the woman kicked and had threatened to kill the officers. Once inside the detachment, the woman continued to behave erratically and spat on the officers. She refused to provide a suitable sample of her breath. She was taken to hospital as a precaution. While at the hospital, she spat in an officer’s face, striking the officer in the eye which required immediate treatment.
The accused, who is in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, Thursday, March 11, 2015 in Walkerton, is charged with the following offences:
– Assault Police
– Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest (x2)
– Resist Arrest
– Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm (x2)
– Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle
– Fail or Refuse to Provide Breath Sample
