Drunk Driver Crosses Two Lanes Of Traffic Before Ending Up On Sidewalk

Incident: On Saturday, June 11, 2016 at approximately 3:40 p.m., a vehicle was travelling southbound on Paris Road when the driver lost control, crossed two northbound traffic lanes and struck the curb before mounting the sidewalk. Community Patrol Officer attended and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Brantford Police Service where he provided samples of his breath as required by law. The results were 217 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and 203 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mg of blood. The accused, a 29 year-old Brantford man was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mg, and released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.
