Around 12:20 AM on Saturday January 31st, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a report of a pick-up truck that had crashed into a light standard in the 300 block of 10th Street West.
On police arrival they found an unoccupied 2009 Chevrolet Silverado that was severely damaged. The force of the impact had caused the street light to break into two pieces. Members of the Owen Sound Fire Department attended to assist in making the scene safe.
An investigation led to the arrest of a 20 year old Owen Sound man for the offence of Impaired Care and Control of a motor vehicle.
The man was taken into custody where he blew more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. He was later released to appear in court in February.
