Drunk Driver Charged After Repeatedly Hitting Garage Door

On March 19, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a residence on Foxwood Crescent to investigate the report of a car striking a garage. It is alleged that at approximately 11:58 p.m. a small white car repeatedly rammed the garage door of the home. Upon arrival, officers located a female in the driver’s seat of a 2014 Mazda that had visible front end damage. That motor vehicle was parked in the driveway in front of a double garage door that had sustained significant damage.

The female was spoken too, it was determined she had been drinking alcohol and she was arrested.

Further investigation revealed that the female (a tenant of the Foxwood Crescent home) became involved in an argument with the male homeowner throughout the course of the evening and during that dispute, it is alleged that she assaulted him and caused damage to furniture within the home. The homeowner had locked the female tenant out of the house, at which time she damaged the garage door with her car.

Damage to the garage door is estimated at approximately $5,000. Damage to the motor vehicle is estimated at about $1,000.
