Drunk Driver Causes Fiery Collision – One Airlifted To Hospital

Location: HIGHLAND RD W, KITCHENER, ON Canada

On Friday, August 21, 2015 at approximately 10:36 pm, a Toyota Corolla driven by a 22 yr. old Waterloo male was driving westbound on Highland Road West when it crossed over the center line and struck a Cadillac CTS driven by a 20 yr. old Kitchener male. The Cadillac caught fire however the driver and his 19 yr. old passenger were able to escape before fire engulfed the front interior of the car. The fire was extinguished by the Kitchener Fire Department. The driver of the Toyota was arrested for impaired driving and transported to Grand River Hospital before being transported in stable condition to Hamilton General Hospital by Air Ambulance. The driver of the Cadillac attended Grand River Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
