Drunk Driver Caught Trying To Dig Vehicle Out Of Snowbank

(SOUTH HURON, ON) Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have arrested and charged a 31 year old male driver with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol after police were notified of a possible impaired driver.

Just before 11:00 p.m. on January 24, 2014 Huron OPP officers responded to the intersection of Waterloo Street and Carling Street in Exeter to investigate a complaint of a possible impaired driver that was trying to get his vehicle out of the snowbank.

Police arrived on scene and observed the driver attempting to dig his Dodge Neon out of the snowbank. Upon speaking with the driver officers noted he had been drinking alcohol and was displaying several signs that he was impaired by alcohol.

He was arrested for Impaired Driving and was subsequently transported back to detachment for breath tests. He later provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 31 year old Jason MONTEITH from South Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 9, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
