(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 25 year old driver from Guelph will have to attend court in Goderich after she was arrested this past weekend for Impaired Driving. On June 5, 2015 at approximately 10:10 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the driver of a Buick sedan make a wide turn onto Huron Road at the west end of Clinton. The officer followed the Buick westbound on Huron Road and watched as the vehicle swerved over the fog line and center line on several occasions. The officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Huron Road and Falls Road to check on the condition of the driver as it was suspected the driver may have been impaired.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer observed an open beer can in the vehicle. Upon further investigation the investigating officer observed the driver to be displaying several signs that she was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was then transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. She provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of her tests were above the legal limit.
As a result, 25 year old Jade BIGLOW from Guelph has been charged with Impaired Driving & Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She now has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 6, 2015. She also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
