(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Saturday March 18, 2017 shortly before 8:00 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a GMC pick-up truck on Line 42 in the Township of Perth East.
The officer, upon dealing with the driver, detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and taken to Perth County OPP detachment in Sebringville for further testing. He later provided samples of his breath into an Intoxilyzer and registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 26-year-old Cole KELLY from Perth East has been charged with driving with more than 80 Milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 3, 2017. He also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
