Drunk Driver Caught In Drive Thru

On October 9, 2013 at 11:40 pm, Barrie Police officers attended a Bayfield Street north restaurant regarding a report of a male in the drive thru with an open case of beer in the front seat. Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot and located the beer.

Officers quickly determined the male appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. Investigation revealed the Shanty Bay man attended the same restaurant on Highway #11 and discover it was closed and drove to the Bayfield Street location.

The male was transported to the Barrie Police Service for breath test which resulted in readings of double the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol.

The 54 year drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days.
