(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A citizen complaint regarding erratic driving has helped Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) remove another dangerous driver off of our roadways. At approximately 4:42 p.m. on April 20, 2017 Huron County OPP officers were notified of a Jeep Wrangler that was travelling in an erratic manner into Huron County from Middlesex County.
Approximately 15 minutes later a Huron OPP officer stopped the suspect vehicle as it was pulling into a driveway located on Mill Street in Exeter. While speaking with the male driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment. He was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was subsequently transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his tests registered over the legal limit.
Chad INSLEY, 26 years of age from Exeter has been charged with Impaired Driving & Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 15, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He also received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
