Barrie Police were patrolling near Wellington St and Sunnidale Rd area when they observed a vehicle approaching this intersection at a high rate of speed.
The Officer had a green light for his lane of traffic but observed the suspect vehicle was not slowing for (his) red light.
The Officer stopped his cruiser as the suspect drove through the intersection despite a red light.
Police stopped the vehicle nearby and found the driver was in a intoxicated condition.
He was arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a series of breath tests.
The suspect blew readings that were over twice the legal limit of 80mgs/100ml.
The 25 year old Barrie male was held till sober and given an December court date.
