Barrie Police received a call from the OPP in regards to a possible impaired driver travelling north on Hwy 400 at Hwy 89. Based on the registration information, it was believed to be heading to an address in Barrie.

Officers met the vehicle exiting Hwy 400 at Essa Road. The driver supplied a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device and registered a fail. He was transported to the station where he provided samples of his breath into an approved instrument. The results were more than the legal limit of 80mgs.

A 56 year old Barrie male was charged with Driving over 80mgs. He was given a January court date and a 90 day licence suspension.
