Drunk Driver 3 1/2 Times Legal Limit

On September 10, 2013 at approximately 8:44pm the Owen Sound Police received the first of two calls regarding a possible impaired driver.

The Owen Sound Police Service attended the 400 block of 15th Street West and located the vehicle and driver. After receiving witness information confirming that the 48 year old Owen Sound female had been operating the motor vehicle she was arrested for impaired driving.

The female was returned to the Owen Sound Police station where she provided two samples of her breath. The female was found to have 3 1/2 times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The female was subsequently charged with; impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle while her blood alcohol was in excess of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. She was released from custody with a September 26, 2013 court date.

Without the assistance of the two concerned citizens the outcome of tonight’s event could have been tragic. Impaired driving still remains the number one criminal cause of death.
