Drunk Driver 2X Legal Limit Stops And Questions OPP Officer

(LUCAN-BIDDULPH, ON) – On February 23, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were asked by a neighbouring police service to locate a male resident of Stonehouse Line.

An OPP officer responding to the assistance call was stationary in the vicinity of the residence. To the officer’s surprise, the male in question parked behind the police cruiser and a reversed traffic stop was initiated. The driver was inquisitive as to what the police was doing in the area.

Officers determined that the 32-year-old male driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests. The breath tests revealed that the driver had more than two (2) times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

As a result of the police investigation, Nathaniel LEFAIVRE, of Lucan-Biddulph, Ontario, has been charged with Driving While Ability impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC). The accused was also charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on March 28, 2018.
