Drugged Driver Found In Ditch By Police – FISHER

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A Bluewater resident has been charged with Impaired Operation following a citizen traffic complaint investigated by police this past weekend.

At approximately 1:24 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call about an erratic driver travelling on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway. Officers immediately began patrolling for the vehicle and a little while later officers located the suspect vehicle in the ditch near Blue Bluff Road.

Upon checking on the driver officers noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing. After determining the suspect was not impaired by alcohol he was tested by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). The driver complied with the tests and he was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

Martin FISHER, 46 years of age, from Bluewater has been charged with Impaired Operation by a Drug. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 28, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
