On Wednesday August 24, 2016, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Bateman Trail and a Criminal Code search warrant on Sovereign Road in relation to an investigation involving the trafficking of cocaine.
Police attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the Bateman Trail Residence, operated by the subject of the investigation, who failed to stop for Police. The driver was observed throwing drugs out the window of the vehicle as he fled. It was later stopped and the driver, who was the sole occupant, was arrest without incident.
The following items were seized:
– 43 grams of Crack Cocaine – $4300
– 1 Hydromorph pill 18mg – $20
– 1 gram of marihuana – $10
– Canadian Currency – $7078
As a results of the investigation, a total of four criminal charges have been laid against Evon ROSE, (40), of London. These charges are as follows:
– Possess Schedule one substance for purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2), CDSA;
– Possess Schedule one substance, contrary to section 4(1), CDSA;
– Possess Schedule one substance, not in excess, contrary to section 4(1), CDSA; and
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor vehicle, contrary to section 249(1)(a), CC.
