Drug Charge At RIDE

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On April 27, 2013 at approximately 3:16am, County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a RIDE Program on Highway 7 near Wellington County Road 32 in Guelph-Eramosa Twp. A 2004 Subaru entered the RIDE Program and officers detected the odour of burnt marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. This resulted in the driver surrendering a quantity of marihuana to police. Alcohol was also consumed by the driver and the investigation revealed he is on court conditions not to consume alcohol.

Thomas PEARCE of Waterloo age 23 has been charged with Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on June 7, 2013 to answer to the charge.
